UPDATE!
Boat Raft-Up: Boaters typically begin arriving as early as July 3rd to secure a spot and will stay through the morning of July 5th. Fly your STYC Burgee so the raft-up can be visually Located. First boat in will start the raft-up. Look for space, we will have 10+ boats. Space dependent, we may need to split into 2 raft-ups.
Be prepared to navigate within crowded anchorages. Raft-up options will be discussed upon arrival & communicated with STYC skippers already there, BEFORE you tie-up. Be prepared to drop your anchor & back down on it to reach the raft up. Ideally every other boat.
The Fireworks: The professional display, produced by Pyro Spectaculars, lights up the skies over the center of the north harbor right after dusk (around 9:30 PM – 10:00 PM)
There are NO public docks to access, only private docks. And only shallow beach area's which are mostly private. There is a small state park/marina w/ 30 slips on a first come first serve basis around the corner in Dockton. Provision your boat accordingly. There is only a very small general mercantile & coffee stand in Barton.
Note: it is known that the Coast Guard has in recent years stopped some boats at the entrance to the harbor training cadets on safety inspections. This is a great Holiday weekend to practice these inspections all over Puget Sound. Make sure you're up to snuff.
FYI: apparently a traditional high-speed Vashon Hydroplane Races commence on the morning of July 4th (around 5:00 AM) at Jensen Point Park.

NEW CRUISE !
July 4th at Quatermaster Harbor, Vashon Island.
The July 4th celebration in Quartermaster Harbor on Vashon Island centers around a massive community raft-up in the harbor and a premier professional fireworks display at dusk (around 10:00 PM) launched from a barge near Burton, which traditionally rivals Poulsbo's old display,
Fly your STYC Burgee so the club raft up/s can be spotted. Be prepared to drop you anchor!
We will have a raft-potluck Saturday evening prior to the fireworks. Please prepare dinner items to share across several boats. And please register below so we know how many to account for.

This member has personally seen several Quatermaster fireworks displays there in the past. I am hoping this year's 250th Anniversary will be a truly epic show.
Please feel free to send any of your own cruise photo's to our Social Chair at: social@styc.org
See you there!
