Blake Island Overnight Cruise

Once something has attained sheer awesomeness there is little reason to improve further. This cruise just keeps on getting bigger & better with age. Gather your crew, your best dinner potluck items, your foulies, and your acquired PNW salty fortitude & head over to Blake Island for our STYC annual hoedown gathering where the Rum will be provided to the flock & the fire will keep us all warm & toasty.

Blake Island is a National Park. Per 2023 rates, Annual permits can be purchased at the ranger station upon arrival for $5/ft, or $.70/ft for overnight only. Buoy $15/day. Electric $6/day. We highly recommend you bring an electrical "splitter" with you, especially if you heat your boat with shore power!

Morris Lowitz has agreed to be our tetris Dock Master again. He will be armed with glowing flight sabers, a bullhorn, perhaps a slooper cape, the registration list, and will be helping you dock at your space. Please reach him on VHF Ch #72 for instructions when you begin your approach into the marina.

Due to this cruises popularity and very limited dock space there is a Waitlist. As natural attrition occurs (which it does...) wait-listed boats will automatically be upgraded to the "Go" list & sent a notification.

***Be prepared to Raft-up, grab a buoy or Anchor if needed !!!  Largest boats will go on the dock FIRST....smaller boats will fill-in by rafting-up. Please see the above Update. There are 29 boats(!!) on the combined Go & waitlist. PLEASE be considerate to those who signed-up Before you...

This is also January in central sound. Please prepare accordingly.

The following are requested: Fly your Burgees, help with set-up, dinner potluck items (w/ a serving utensil), WOOD, Lanterns of any type, small propane heaters, your own ice & drink mixers, any additional favorite beverages. Bring Your plate & eating utensils up to the shelter from Your own boat. Music/Musical instruments highly encouraged. Paper towels, Garbage bags! Help w/ clean-up.
